Water in our area may contain PFAS/PFOA/PFOS. You can explore the interactive map on EWG.org to learn more.

Eighteen million Americans live in communities where the water systems are in violation of the law. As a matter of fact, the federal agency in charge of making sure those systems are safe not only know these issues exist, they’ve done little to stop them according to information provided by CNN which cites multiple sources and water experts.

Our goal is not to scare anyone into getting water treatment, however, educating our local community about water quality is a top priority. We’ve worked with many local families to improve their water and to provide peace of mind knowing the water they drink and bathe in is free of harmful contaminants.

The Water Quality Association provides a great resource on PFAS that you can review with your family. When you’re ready to have your water treated to reduce contaminants that may be in your water now or down the road, schedule a free home water test with our team of certified water treatment specialists.

How is PFAS removed?

circle icon | PFAS

According to an article by the Water Quality Association, “Water treatment technologies that have been independently tested to show that they are capable of removing PFAS from drinking water in your home include activated carbon filtration, reverse osmosis (RO), and anion exchange treatment.”

They go on to say, “Product Certification, which goes beyond independent testing of each manufacturer’s product, provides an additional level of assurance to consumers who want protection from PFAS. During the process the Certification Body reviews confidential information on how and where the product is built and labeled and who the suppliers are for each material or component; conducts regular factory audits to ensure the product is not changed without authorization or retesting; reviews product packaging and labeling to ensure that important information is conveyed to consumers, and conducts additional testing to ensure that the products are made with materials that will not leach harmful chemicals into the water and that will not develop leaks due to pressure spikes. Currently, product certification is available only for carbon filtration products and reverse osmosis systems because no standard has been written yet for products that remove PFAS using anion-exchange technology.”

AAA Water Systems, Inc offers solutions for reducing PFAS, including products certified to NSF/ANSI 53 (filters) or NSF/ANSI 58 (RO systems). These products have been tested to industry standards to verify they reduce PFOA and PFOS down to 70 ppt (parts per trillion).
