Everything we eat and drink has a pH level that falls somewhere between 0 (very acidic) and 14 (high alkalinity). While typical drinking water usually has a pH of 7, alkaline water has an average that falls between 7.5 and 9 (our filter has reached as high as 10!)

Recent peer-reviewed studies (below) suggest that an alkaline diet can lead to improved bone health, reduced muscle wasting, and decreased risk of hypertension and stroke. Alkaline water’s higher pH level is said to help in neutralizing the body’s acidity, contributing to overall well-being.

One study conducted among postmenopausal women in Malaysia examined the impact of alkaline water on metabolic risks, sleep quality, and muscle strength, highlighting the increasing interest in its potential health benefits despite limited information on its effectiveness. Another study found that alkaline water consumption for 10 months in mice had an anti-aging effect, increasing telomere length, which regulates cellular aging, and significantly reducing reactive oxygen species in blood. In this study, athletes who drank alkaline water showed favorable changes in hydration status and more efficient lactate utilization, suggesting possible endurance improvements during exercise. This one suggests that daily ingestion of alkaline electrolyzed water containing hydrogen led to improved overall health effects, including better sleep quality and reduced gastrointestinal symptoms
